Born around 300, tradition tells she was the daughter of a Greek king who converted to Christianity, herself vowing consecrated virginity. On a family trip to Rome, Emperor Diocletian fell in love with her, however she refused his requests and was tortured. Scrouged, shot with arrows and drowned with an anchor, each time angels came to heal her through her prayers.
